On November 8, 2014 a team of wounded veterans will join Operation Purple Hearts of Gold to participate in the Tough Mudder obstacle course race and help raise awareness about the complex issues military families are confronted with.
The Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test all-around strength, stamina, teamwork, and mental grit. Tough Mudder is Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet!
We Sacrificed Together, We’ll Heal Together: No Limits, No Excuses!
Operation Purple Hearts of Gold was founded to bring Gold Star Families (the families of fallen military service members) and Wounded Veterans together. Their goal is to help military families and wounded service members heal, raise awareness and aid in the prevention of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), depression, and suicide through inspirational acts.
The unique relationship between Gold Star families and Wounded Veterans is one that offers both parties the ability to relate and inspire each other in a way no one else can. Operation Purple Hearts of Gold Founder, Tanner Kuth, believes that without a purpose in life, no amount of medication, recreation, or support can combat the complex issues faced by the military community.
